Sad but true...

I just uploaded my last layout in the ADSR3 gallery. It has been so much fun! Sometimes very challenging - but that is what it is all about, isn't it? I have scrapped layouts in styles I wouldn't have tried before and I might try some more because I like what I have created. It has been so worth it, I will do it again!

Now we have to wait for the drawing, which team will be the winner of the Grand Prizes?

Altered Art Layout

Well, I am not totally convinced of my layout but I ran out of time, so I had to finish. I had many ideas and I really like the different approach to a layout, I probably make more of those in the future.

Entry to ADSR3 Challenge #9, hosted at NDISB
Your challenge 9 is to scrap an altered art page. It can be about anything you want. You choose the subject, you choose the products. The only requirement is that it be in the altered art style.

Aussie ant here

Hey ya!
I just came here to post the challenge #8 and I realized that I forgot to hide the ant in the layout. Will fix that and reupload it later. For credits, please check out my gallery, thanks!

You have no idea how tired I am - and I cannot exactly tell you why - full moon? Painting? We had a lovely day today, absolute nice weather, 27C. The kids have played outside all day and we had a BBQ for dinner, awwwwww, so nice and relaxing!

# 7 - a tough one

Wow, wow, wow and...wow - that one was a tough one! *shaking head* Really, creating a clean layout with so many embellishments...impossible, if you ask me. I did what I could to make it feel not to cluttered and leave some empty space. Quite confusing to count all items from the designers you have used here and there. I am waiting for Alex to wake up and help me double check before I post my layout officially *LOL*

So I will come back later and post my layout. I also have to think about the challenge #8 - I do know what to scrap about but I am not sure what lyric to include - I am sooo bad with remembering lyrics, interpreter and song titles... *sigh*

OK, I am back - Alex did have a look and other than I had to put the ant on the layout, everything seems fine. For credits please look in the gallery - it is a loooooong list *ROFL*

and here we go with challenge 6

this was fun! we had to do a special challenge:
We’re putting a twist on a Sweet Shoppe Signature Challenge, the Spin-A-Lift. Once you’ve chosen which member of your team will officially complete this leg of the race, that person will need to choose a layout from their partner’s gallery to spin. For those of you who may be new to the concept of a spin-a-lift you need to take your partner’s original layout and turn it 90 degrees left or right, a full 180 degrees OR flip it horizontally or vertically to come up with a brand new composition for your page. Then you just scraplift away.
Here’s the twist to make this a bit more challenging than usual… We also want you to switch the subject matter of your partner’s original layout so it’s the opposite of the original page!!
You can find Nathalies original LO at TheDigiChick and the credits in my NDISB Gallery

journaling: thank you nathalie!
Emily - Bennetts new Doll
Hi little doll, tell us about you
Hi, I am little Emily
How did you came to Gluecksburg?
Big Emily send it to me from Osnabrueck by mail
Why?
Because it was big Bennett's birthday
Ah, of course! But why did Emily gave Bennett a doll?
Simple! So that Bennett is not alone when Emily cannot be with him. This way he can always cuddle Emily.
Understandable. But how did Emily get this idea?
That is realy simple! Big Emily has little Bennett to cuddle with. And because this little doll looks like Bennett she called him Bennett. And because Bennett always longs for his Emily, he now has little Emily to cuddle with and looking forward to see big Emily again.

Journaling reads:
You are special to me, I thought I would never have cats because of my allergy. When I found out that I wasn’t allergic to specific breeds, you came into my life. From day one you showed affectations, you were the queen, a real diva. When we patted you and you had enough you would walk away whipping your tail and soon afterwards you began licking yourself, looking at us as if you were sayiug: “Look what you have done to my fur!” When new cats were introduced you tolerated them but they were not allowed to come to close to you. You never excepted Lissy, the other female cat - you were truly the one and only queen. In December 2007 - when we already went through a difficult time - more sad news hid us: You were diagnosed with cancer and had only 4-6 weeks to live. Soon after we lost Gizmo which was a shock. We were having a hard time thinking of loosing you when his death came unexpectedly. It hurts, it hurts so badly. What more bad news was to come? You made it to our new house, you explored the house the first day you arrived, showing no fear like the others did. You proved the doctors wrong, you are still here. But now you get weaker everyday and I know the day will come soon to have to say goodbye to you. I fear this day. Sheila, I love you so much, you are special to me.

here we go with challenge 4

the german ant is as busy as an ant and that is why the next challenge is ready.

Aussie ant has finished challenge #3!

OK, this was a tough one for me. Since I have started digi scrapbooking I made a lot of layouts about myself and I start to dislike them *lol* But to have to journal that much on top of that... I tell ya, I had a hard time! But it is done and I think, I like it. What do you think?

Journaling reads:
Once upon a time:
in a small town in Holland a little baby girl was born - here name was Nathalie. During the summer holidays she and her family spent some weeks at her grandparents house in Germany, as well as Christmas, which she always enjoyed. It felt special and cosy at granny’s house. And it was special, because they didn’t see them very much. Her dutch granny she saw more often, sometimes she stayed there over the weekend.

When she was twelve years of age, she, her little sister and her parents moved to Germany against her will. Her happy life seemed over with that move - her parents got divorced, her daddy died young and life got quite difficult.Very often she felt lost in the world, desperately looking for a home, loving and caring people.

But everything changed when she met her prince charming, Gerd. He made her smile again and she felt beautiful. The dark clouds in the sky dissapeared and the sun was shining bright again. They got married, had the most beautiful wedding and soon their gorgeous baby daughter arrived.

One day they took on a big challenge which changed their lives tremendously, they moved to Australia. Friends and family thought they were very brave to take on this task.Of course it wasn’t easy, far away from everything and everybody they knew, but they met friendly people and they soon felt at home. Nathalie gave birth to their second child, a son this time. They found a nice house which they bought and renovated to their taste. Nathalie’s children love the house and told her that they don’t want to move again, so they probably still live there today... The End.

Challenges 3 and 4 are up

Not only is challenge number 3 up, here at digital scrapbook memories but also number 4, here at oscraps

#3 has to be about yourself and at least half of the page has to be filled with journaling. Phew, that is a tough challenge. Not only am I not really a fan of pages about myself but having to do so much journaling is really a huge challenge for me!

#4 is to do a layout about an event, situation in your life - sad or happy, humorous or venting and it needs to have at least 1/4 page of journaling too!

Already half of the week is gone, I am having a cold (again), very tired and I haven't started one of the challenges. I better start right now...

And our 2nd challenge is done

This was fun, we had to do a layout together! But yes... we were late starting it, so we had to rush. And always when you rush you make mistakes, right? So did I - I forgot to put the title on the layout! yikes...

For credits please visit here

If you like to have some fun - we always hide a little ant in our layouts - let's see if you can find them

The race starts tomorrow!

I just spoke to Alexandra and we cannot wait to start the race! We both had lots to do the last couple of weeks so we haven't been able to scrap for a while. Not that I have a lot of time - our renovation of the house still is in the process but I so want to be creativ again! Bring it on, whohoooo!
